Putin revealed that reliable intelligence gathered by the Kremlin confirm US plans to insert into western Ukraine a Polish expeditionary force “for a subsequent occupation of these territories.”
In other words, the US, with very deep pockets, is looking for a never ending war, a war of attrition. Having failed to defeat Putin, the idea is to outspend him, bleed him economically. What will happen to Europe in this process?
The change in world order entailed gains and losses in global stature. The West, led by the US would, sooner or later lose its hegemony. The instruments it had developed to advance its control of the world order would now be employed to arrest its decline – accelerating expansion of NATO, eastward.
How far towards negotiations Russia, Washington over Ukraine are inclined will be revealed in their respective body language when Anthony Blinken and Sergei Lavrov meet at the G20 Summit in Bali on November 15-16.
Media disinformation notwithstanding, one outcome of this war is more or less established – we are transiting from US hegemony to a multipolar world. The process became imminent in 2008.
The Ukraine story will certainly take a turn once the identity of senior Western officials, generals and mercenary groups at Azovstal steel plant are revealed over next few days. What plots are being hatched to extricate priceless Ukrainian assets from the steel plant?
There could be no clearer admission of the fact that this war is not about Ukraine. Indeed, Ukraine is being plied with billions of dollars plus the most sophisticated weapons in the world to fight a proxy war so that the Anglo-Americans do not lose control of world power.
It is breathtaking media management. A besieged Volodymyr Zelensky in army casuals, exhorts his people every evening. Is he in a war zone or is he where President Biden met members of his cabinet – Warsaw? It would be a malicious rumour to float: that the war hero is in an American embassy which has been transformed into a TV studio.
The Russians have more or less achieved what they had to on the ground. But the "donors" for the Republicans as well as the Democrats want to expand the war. Blinken and Nuland would like to fight the war to the last Ukrainian.
