Six corrupt CJIs named by Prashant Bhushan

Prashant Bhushan recently submitted a supplementary affidavit in the Supreme Court of India where he has submitted evidence to back his allegations that “half of the last 16 Chief Justices have been corrupt.”

Bhushan has admitted that getting documentary evidence of corruption in the higher judiciary is difficult. Despite this, his historic affidavit throws light on blatant corruption in the top echelons of the Indian judiciary.

Corrupt judges: Open letter to Soli Sorabjee

Prashant Bhushan, one of India’s leading advocates, is facing contempt proceedings after he alleged in an interview that eight of the last 16 Chief Justices of India were corrupt. His father and India’s former law minister, Shanti Bhushan, recently sought to implead himself in the contempt petition filed against his son.

The father-son duo’s attempt to cleanse India’s higher judiciary of corruption is courageous but former attorney general Soli Sorabjee thought otherwise.

The letter is in response to the unfortunate remarks by a very senior legal luminary.
