CAG’s CWG report and Indian media

The latest CAG report on CWG scam raises some uncomfortable questions with regard to the Indian media. The Power Post, in a post on August 26, 2010, revealed how various top media outlets competed with each other to grab the 'deal' for providing 'positive media coverage' to the CWG 2010.

After Libya, give me BBC Radio anyday

Fair enough. If the US, Britain and France are at war, say, in Libya, who am I to object to their journalists becoming drumbeaters. The problem arises when that customized coverage becomes the only source of information for the intellectually colonized world.

Controversy over cash-for-votes sting

If Tehelka, on leads that there was corruption in defence industry, can entrap political leaders and army officials by bribing them with cash (even prostitutes), then what is wrong with a political party planning a sting operation with a TV channel.
